For me, summer is all about slowing down. I love this season for the way it softens everything—light through the windows early in the morning, toes in the sand while walking the boys on the beach, and long evenings that seem to stretch on forever.
Don’t get me wrong, I love a good adventure, but lately, I’ve found myself craving the quiet. A fresh cup of coffee (or a chilled glass of wine at sunset). Music turned up loud (yes, country). An impromptu BBQ with friends.
And when I’m home—which I try to be more in this season—I lean into it fully. I journal more. I dream more. I try to live with intention. There’s something special about creating a home that feels like a sanctuary—especially in the summer, when the doors are wide open and the sound of birds chirping means the sun is out.
These are my rituals that keep me grounded—and grateful.
If you’re looking to create that same ease at home, here are a few of my current favorites from Jennifer Adams:
Start with the Botanical Dream Sheet Set
These are my newest obsession... Light, breathable, and oh-so-soft—it feels like sleeping in fresh air. I love this color in the summer because it reflects the light and gives the room a clean, coastal feel.
Layer on the Codora Reversible Coverlet
Linen just looks right in summer—laid-back, effortless, and elevated. I like the slightly rumpled texture and the way it makes the bed look styled without trying too hard.
Switch to the Cooling Hybrid Pillow
One side is cool-to-the-touch with a breathable gel layer—perfect for warm nights. The other side? Soft and cushy for when you don’t need the chill. Supportive, comfy, and built for better summer sleep.
I’m a side sleeper, and it’s made a big difference in how I wake up: cool, rested, and without a stiff neck.
Real Life? My Dogs Get Dirty.
Truth: I’ve had to start covering my furniture with our throws because the boys bring half the beach home with them. Not the glamorous side of summer—but it’s real.
At the end of the day, summer for me is about being home—really being there. Creating space to unwind. Listening to the birds. Laughing with friends. Living a little more slowly and a little more intentionally.
Whatever your version of summer looks like, I hope you find that same softness.
